Celebrating Black History Month

 Hello peeps,

February is celebration time for Black History and for my swap with Audrey this month, I made my 1/3 pocket letter with this theme.

These images are from Creative Fabrica and I just adore them.  This little tyke is so cute.

I also made a journal that I will give to my grandsons so that they can see their ancestral history.  I made it a glue book more than a journal but it has the history of our ancestors when slavery was the thing across the world (and not just blacks).  This history might get depleted the way they are taking some things out of our view (cartoons back in my day, etc.).

This journal can be found on Amazon - 60 pages to fill and it's a dot grid.

There's a lot of information online (Google, Wikipedia, blackpast.org) that helped me complete these pages.

I used the photos I found online using Google search.

The timeline helps show when slavery started (1600s) though there are passages online that show it occurred as early as B.C. as well.

I took special interest in slaves/free blacks that were taught to me when I was in grade school as their names were immediately recognized.

I have a bit more to do in the book but I did put in on my channel, careful not to say anything that might offend someone.  Not everyone is celebrating my ancestry but this is for my grandsons and I was excited to find so much information correlating with one another online.
