Bee-themed Collab

 Hello everyone,

I participated in an open collab on my You Tube channel where the theme was surrounded around bees and any "doll" you wanted to add.  I used index cards for my creations:

This was fun because all you had to do was follow the prompts and make something that included a "doll" and a bee.

I can use these as card fronts or send to crafty buds as happy mail - even use on Swap.bot when the swap asks to send something you've made.

The next collab I am participating in, which is hosted by the same person, has to do with whimsical stuff - how cool.

Cards for a Friend

 Hello peeps,

It's so good to be on the recovering end of a horrible cold that I had earlier this month.  I had a flu shot and COVID shot earlier this year; not to mention taking Vitamin C every morning.

I also stood in line at the post office behind an elderly person who was coughing without covering his mouth.  I determined to stay 6 feet away and should have remained so until the postal clerk called me over to help me while the man completed his form (he didn't move too far away and had to give one more hack of germs into the air).

I joined a swap and glue collab with Creating with Jovi, sent her magazine pages that she can use to make her glue page.  I then decided to make cute flamingo cards for her to use.  I hope she likes them.

I digitally printed these from Creative Fabrica and added shimmer to the feathers.

I like the different images.  I had sentiments already printed and used them to add interest and make it easy for her to choose how to send them.

I even added some bling to some so that it stands out just a tad bit more.

I hope she likes them.

Index Cards into Card Fronts

 Hello peeps,

I was watching a friends' video and just had to try out what she was showing: using index cards as the front of greeting cards.  You can check out Annie's channel, too and get inspired:

I used Doodlebug images that I found on the web.  Aren't they adorable?

I found about six of the 6x6 Doodlebug paper stacks in my stash that went perfectly with the images.

I will use this method to make cards and start sending them to my charity as well as save for friends, especially when I swap with them.

Happy Crafting!

Celebrating Black History Month

 Hello peeps,

February is celebration time for Black History and for my swap with Audrey this month, I made my 1/3 pocket letter with this theme.

These images are from Creative Fabrica and I just adore them.  This little tyke is so cute.

I also made a journal that I will give to my grandsons so that they can see their ancestral history.  I made it a glue book more than a journal but it has the history of our ancestors when slavery was the thing across the world (and not just blacks).  This history might get depleted the way they are taking some things out of our view (cartoons back in my day, etc.).

This journal can be found on Amazon - 60 pages to fill and it's a dot grid.

There's a lot of information online (Google, Wikipedia, blackpast.org) that helped me complete these pages.

I used the photos I found online using Google search.

The timeline helps show when slavery started (1600s) though there are passages online that show it occurred as early as B.C. as well.

I took special interest in slaves/free blacks that were taught to me when I was in grade school as their names were immediately recognized.

I have a bit more to do in the book but I did put in on my channel, careful not to say anything that might offend someone.  Not everyone is celebrating my ancestry but this is for my grandsons and I was excited to find so much information correlating with one another online.

Hard Work and No Play

 Hello peeps,

I hope that everyone is staying warm and/or keeping dry (it's been raining here, which is good because we do not often get much rain; however last year we did surpass the average).

I really liked this card and had purchased a few digital stamps from this vendor.  Imagine my surprise to learn that she is no longer in business.  I was showcasing my digital images around the same time that I'd discovered hers.  This was back in 2010 when digitals were not popular but we sure made people love them.

Ah...what a memory.  This old lady is "Stella" and she always has quirky things to say.

Newly Made Digital Cards

 Hello everyone,

I haven't quite committed to making cards to send to my charity as I did last year; however, I did make some digitals that will go into my shop (once I get that together).

My subscription to Creative Fabrica allows me to use these images on products that I can sell.  I haven't quite figured it out but here are some cuties for blank cards (or whenever I can think of fun sentiments that would go with the image).

I think the one with the sandwich is a bottle of Nutella and something to that effect.  Isn't that crocheted puppy the cutest?

Some of these images will go on totes - with the appropriate tag line, of course.  But cards are easy and once I get the cookie and milkshake properly centered, I can add that card to a set and sell it.

The 1/3 Pocket Letter Swap is On!

 Hello peeps!

Monday, Monday...and to start off the year with my friend, Audrey, we have decided to swap 1/3 pocket letters.  These are so fun to make because they are just like ATCs.  Here's one that I made last year for Swap-bot

I made two for Audrey this week and some special journals that I just had to send to her.  She creates her own journal and captured the Travel Notebook for us to send each month and complete, along with our swaps.  Oh my goodness, talk about the creativity!

Stay tuned, there's more to come.
