Happy New Year 2025!

 Hello everyone,

I know...there are no "followers"...but there are those that "view" my blog, so this is a good way to showcase what I craft.

This is a Memorydex card I made for a swap in 2023.  I thought it was pretty simple but cute (for swap-bot.com).

I didn't make any Christmas cards this year.  No, I didn't receive any, either.  I sent out a bunch last year and received one.  Postage is just to expensive to spread joy in the paper form, I suppose.

I'm still crafting, so stay tuned for some new things in the works.

Brrr...it's starting to feel like Winter

Hello peeps,

Yes, it's been awhile, but I have just finished unpacking and arranging this apartment.  There were bits and bobs to move around to fit because we lost some square footage but gained it with a large patio that cannot be used until spring - it's too cold outside.

I made this card and sent to a partner on Swap-bot.com.  I have taken a break from swapping so that I could get my craft room together.  But I have found the swappers there do a LOT of postcard swaps and I am not a fan of post cards.  I'm too gabby, I guess.

So, once I find a series of fun ones, I'll hop back on.  Maybe.

I still have to make cards for my charity, though.  I missed October - that was a messy month trying to get things back together and it took awhile. <heehee>

For those of you who have stopped to visit, thank you.

Things Can Happen

 Hello viewers,

Since my last post, I've been situated in a hotel due to a fire in our apartment bathroom.  We were told we had to leave the apartment for safety reasons and that it should be no more than 2 weeks.

The fireman supervisor said it was substantial - just one wall where the toilet is - that's it.  It was a trash can fire that couldn't wait to scale the wall, apparently.

Hubby put the fire out, and was unscathed, thank God.  The smoke did some small damage; everything has soot on it - ugh!

But, I am thankful and blessed.  Things can and do happen.

I can't wait to move into our new digs and get back to crafting.

A Swap at my Favorite Place

 Hey y'all,

I am thrilled that summer is winding down.  This past week has been a little cold for me but I'm told high temperatures will be returning on the first day of fall (ugh!).  But I'll keep crafting.

Here's a card I made for a swap at Swap-bot.com.

For this swap, we had to use die cuts and I was thrilled to use my strawberry dies that I had already sitting and waiting for me to use.  My partner loved the card.

September's Cards for Cards for Kindness

 Hello peeps,

Summer is getting ready to close and of course, it hasn't forgotten the heat.  I'm looking forward to the 22nd, when it is officially FALL, though that doesn't seem to affect the weather.  But leaves will still change colors and there are some trees around that will reflect that.

Here are some of the many cards that I am sending to the charity for the month of September:

The images above are from my stash.  Some I have purchased awhile back and some are printed from various sites.  I decided to add a few male images this time.

I really enjoy using different images, adding a little bling and a cute sentiment to my cards for that simplistic but cute look.

Whenever I make cards with a colored card stock as the base, I always add a white, bordered piece for writing.  I have a few dies that give a variety of looks for the border and they go rather quickly, so it's time to make more.

Cards for the Medical Team

 Hello peeps,

I recently had surgery on my left eye and even though my interaction with the anesthesiologist caused me to go into a panic, which put me in an awful state throughout the  surgery.  The nursing team and my doctor excelled in their care for me.  The person I expected to be calm and understanding about my angst was horrible but I want to show the ones that showed "TLC" that I appreciate them.

Each nurse gave me her undivided attention and held my hand (especially when I ended up crying) right before the surgery.  Afterwards, they treated me with tender gloves.  I'm going to bring a box of delicious See's chocolate candy to go with the card.

This is for my doctor, who listened to me tell the experience I had with the anesthesiologist on my follow-up visit.  He was so kind and you could tell he felt bad for me - even apologizing that this happened.

But I am healing and I want to thank all of those responsible because if it weren't for them (and my Heavenly Father), who knows where I'd be right now (...the looney bin, for sure).

Crafty Fun

 Hello peeps,

While summer is winding down and the weather has not been so frightful, I am enjoying the craftiness of each day.  I make more than just cards, so check this out:

ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) that only take a platform of 3.5 x 2.5 and are collectible.  There was a time back in the day where that's all we did were these ATCs, which I believe started in the UK realm and made it's way to the US.  As you can, I like to keep mine simple but cute.

Memorydex Cards - who knew that small rolodex that we scribbled contact information onto would later become a crafty phenomenon? I used die cuts to make these and they are essentially the same size as an ATC but more decorative. The cat is a Tim Holtz stamp that I stamped onto colored card stock - love that facial expression.  The foxes below is a stamp recently received from my friend, Audrey.  I stamped them and their clothing onto colored and printed card stock to give it interest.

Paper crafting, for me, is a world of excitement.
